Voluntary slavery and human trafficking statement

Charitable Giving is making a voluntary modern slavery and human trafficking statement relating to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We oppose slavery and human trafficking in all its forms and make this statement to set out the steps we have taken to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our business or in our supply chains.

About us

We are a non-profit organisation providing Payroll Giving and other Workplace Giving Administration Services in the Charity sector.

Our annual turnover is under £36 million. Although we are not required to make a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are making this voluntary statement to show our commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps we are taking to tackle modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chains.

Our supply chains are mainly made up of the following:

  • IT Support Services (SSIT & CETSAT)
  • Telephony, Broadband (TELA)
  • Backup and Recovery (ITEX - XEROX)
  • Premises Security & Safety (CHUBB)
  • Collection Recycling (BIFFA)
  • Contract Cleaning (HAPPY TAILS)

Our commitment to ethical trading

We are committed to ethical trading principles and to acquiring goods and services without harm to others.

Due diligence and risk assessment

To help identify and monitor the risk of slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain we carry out due diligence to ensure the commitment to ethical labour practices.

To prevent the engagement of forced labour during our recruitment process our due diligence includes, but is not limited to, interviewing candidates, carrying out associated employment checks including proof of ID and address and, for any candidates who are in the UK on a visa, requiring the candidate to provide their eVisa share code to prove their immigration status. The full process is covered in our P0033 Recruitment Policy.

Wage payments will only be paid into a bank account in the employee’s name.

Suppliers are required to either provide us with a copy of their own modern slavery and human trafficking statement/policy or to sign to adhere to our declaration of compliance.

Effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking

We will review the effectiveness of the steps being taken to eliminate modern slavery and human trafficking annually.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, employees will undertake training every 3 years or sooner if required due to regulatory changes.

We will regularly raise awareness to our employees via internal email communications and Team Meetings.
