Médecins Sans Frontières

Founded to save lives and speak out, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has helped tens of millions of people since 1971. The 13 founders have grown to over 36,000 staff on the frontline of emergency medical aid.

We provide free medical care to people who need it. It doesn't matter which country they are from, which religion they belong to, or what their political affiliations are. All that matters is that they are human beings in need.

For many, MSF is synonymous with emergency medical teams tackling disasters, wars and epidemics around the world. But we also work to raise awareness and create debate about these crises through our policy of 'témoignage'.

This means MSF acts as a witness and will speak out, either in private or in public, about the plight of populations in danger for whom we work.

In doing so, MSF sets out to alleviate human suffering, to protect life and health and to restore respect for human beings and their fundamental human rights.

In 1999 MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its pioneering humanitarian work around the world.

Why donate through Payroll Giving?

Being a payroll giver means you can help MSF to save lives every month with a donation from your pay. It's a simple and tax effective way for you to give, because your donation is taken out before tax a £10 donation would only cost you £8.

MSF is designed to respond fast - We have a network of medics and aid experts across some 65 countries. Our financial independence means we can act rapidly, without waiting for governments or other institutions to release funds. Without regular gifts such as those from payroll giving donors this would not be possible.

Your donation matters. 100% of our donations come from people like you, and 86% is spent on helping people who need it most.
